Latest legal developments in European climate change
On 15 December 2025, the European Lawyers Foundation and the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) organised a webinar on ‘Latest legal developments in European climate change’, in the framework of the EU-funded TRAVAR project.
Among the issues addressed during the webinar, there was first a presentation by a European Commission official on recent EU policy developments in the field of climate, followed by a presentation on the European Court of Human Rights and climate change litigation by a representative from the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics. Next was a session on the EU Charter and climate change litigation by representatives from the Fundamental Rights Agency, followed by a final presentation on other recent developments affecting lawyers by the Chair of the CCBE’s Environment and Climate Change Committee.
