Digitalisation of judicial proceedings: what lawyers need to know
On 31 March 2025, the European Lawyers Foundation and the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) organised a webinar on ‘Digitalisation of judicial proceedings: what European lawyers need to know’, in the framework of the EU-funded TRAVAR project.
Among the issues addressed during the webinar, there was first a presentation from the European Commission official responsible for the roll-out of the EU’s digitalisation programme as it affects judicial proceedings, who provided an overview of Commission initiatives. This was followed by a presentation from the Secretary General of the CCBE who gave the response of the legal profession to the challenges and opportunities arising out of the programme. Next there was a presentation from two representatives from a Member State (Estonia) which has an advanced system of digitalisation, and who spoke of their own national experience. And, finally, the webinar was rounded off by a speaker from the Council of Europe about its guides and other work in the field.
