Secretariat

The Foundation’s Secretariat is responsible for the Foundation’s day-to-day business. It is composed of people with knowledge of both the legal profession and project management. The Secretariat is composed of a Managing Director, a Project Manager and a Financial Officer and Office Manager.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Alonso Hernandez-Pinzon is the ELF’s Managing Director. He holds a degree in Law from the University Autonoma of Madrid where he also received an LL.M. in International Public Law and EU Law. He holds a Masters in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Spanish Diplomatic School and has taken postgraduate and executive education in academic centers such as Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School. He is a qualified lawyer registered with the Madrid Bar.

PROJECT MANAGER

Vasileios Stathopoulos has previously worked as a project assistant at the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and in EU institutions including the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee. He holds two master’s degrees in European Law and International Relations and two bachelor’s degrees in Law and International & European Studies. Vasileios is a qualified lawyer at the Athens Bar Association.

SENIOR PROJECT COUNSEL

FINANCIAL OFFICER

Féline van der Heyden has experience in Finance and Office Management for over 10 years and has worked for several international organisations in (re)organisational projects. She holds a bachelor degree in Economics. At the European Lawyers Foundation she is responsible for the financial administration, HR and the daily management of the office.
